These few words are in gratitude for what i have learnt so far and for what i will learn in the weeks to come at your dog obedience training classes. After deciding to have a flatcoat retriver puppy i was absolutely determined to have a dog that i could take anywhere and would be properly trained, so i found out about POSH PETS.This class allows the puppies to mix & socialise and learn the basic commands, in a kind and reward based way.
Heather has a wealth of knowledge, to answer our questions, and give help, and through practice we realise the thrill of having a dog that reacts to us in a happy way and is a pleasure to be with.

Heather is an experienced trainer and she uses a variety of techniques to help handlers get the most out their pup/dog. For me (and Von) it was a relief to know that with Heather's experience of German Shepherd Dogs, nothing was seen as an 'issue' and positive, reward based training along with supplemental advice was always on offer. The group sessions were exactly what my GSD pup needed for socialisation and this tied in seamlessly with socialisation work I did myself and also further socialisation classes that I attended out with. During each session, Heather spent time with handlers on an individual basis though was always in control of the larger class at all times. In this way, Von and I progressed at a steady pace - exactly what I was looking for.

Despite being dog owners for many years, the new challenge of a 6 month old Beardie, led us to seek professional advice on some of her behaviour. After contacting Heather she came out to our home to witness our dogs high spirited but unacceptable behaviour. We saw Heather for private lessons initially before combining this with weekly classes. Isla has responded really well and we all thoroughly enjoy our training. It is hard work, but seeing the results of the training is just so rewarding.
Heather has been professional, patient and supportive, and her expert advice has been invaluable.
Thank you so much Heather...

I would just like to say how happy I am with this training club at only £8 per lesson with a highly qualified trainer its brilliant. My GSD Alfie loves going to the classes and is doing very well, it is a really friendly club and Heather has an obvious love of animals.

When in need of a start to my pups training, Posh Pets were very kind to help us immediately. No waits for future training classes. The atmosphere was very friendly, and " PIP " thrived. We soon completed the puppy assessment, and were advised to go on to train for the Bronze Kennel Club award.Never did i think that both my dogs would have obtained awards, within a short time of starting.
Highly recommended training and trainer.

“Heather was recommended to me by a friend after I adopted a rescue german shepherd called Sam. He is a great boy but he had no socialisation with other dogs and was a nightmare to walk on a lead.
Following one to one lessons, homework for me and some hard work with Sam we are now making great progress and beginning to enjoy our walks.
Heather is extremely knowledgeable and supportive when training and I would highly recommend her if you require help with any behaviour issues.
Sam - A stunning boy adopted from the SSPC
I can't recommend Heathers classes enough.
My Thor was a lovely little (?) GSD puppy going on 6 months old with a rather cheeky persuasion, He was quite the character and a little bit of a handful in public. Having had GSD's before I foolishly thought I could manage without classes but Thor was getting bigger and oblivious to his own size so I started looking into getting help with training. Heather at POSHPETS came highly recommended so I got in touch. I initially took a block of 5 one to one sessions thinking I was doing ok with Thors training but after introductions and some observation Heather took control of Thor, When I say took control that is exactly what she did. As soon as she took his leash he was like a different puppy, Her command of him was stunning. His progress under Heathers supervision was amazing. After my 5 lessons were done I started to attend Heathers classes at Musselburgh where Thor went from strength to strength turning into a lovely, handsome young dog. I would love to take credit for training him but Heather should be the one to get credit. She not only helped Thor turn in to a well mannered (although still cheeky) dog but she taught me how to assert my own authority properlyover my youngest family member, Thor.
Thank you so much Heather.

Rob mentioned you would like a picture of Mack so I've attached one.
Thank-you for all you help with Mack, we have noticed a massive difference in his behaviour and it's now much easier taking him out with us.
We would like to continue the training and try the group classes so when there is space if you could let us know.

"Heather and Vickie have a lot of time and patience and explain everything in a fun and relaxing way. Now I can sit, lie down, be recalled, and behave myself better (well most of the time) - Poppy, aged 10 months (and my owner, Steven, does an alright job too!)"
I have know Heather for a number of years, through the love of German Shepherds. She was Secretary of our training club, and a popular member in training. She has now gone on to run her own classes, where i know the clients will receive unlimited attention, from a competent dog trainer.

Have found the trainers to be helpful, competent and friendly.......Sonia and Ally Blackley with Briards .TRANENT.
Here is a picture of Cleo and a testimonial for your website I attended Heather’s puppy class with Cleo (our Lab/ Viszla cross) when she was 4 months old, and this gave us both a good start in basic training principles. At the same time, it was an excellent opportunity to socialise a young puppy. Since then we have followed up with more one-to-one obedience training. Heather is a first class trainer (both for the dog and for me!). Heather has a wealth of experience, is endlessly patient, and has great empathy and understanding for dogs. We could not have made the same progress without her expert help. I have no hesitation in recommending her training services. George Robertson, Dunbar September 2013

When taking Casper to puppy classes I was slightly apprehensive as he was so small and was sure all the other puppies would tower above him. Yes, all the puppies were much bigger however there was no need to have been worried as the class was so well organised and catered for absolutely every type, size and temperament of puppy.
Casper absolutely loved socialising with all the other dogs which has taught him how to play and respect other animals. The class was not only about obedience however how to look after and handle your puppy, something I didn't expect and found very informative. The team at Posh Pets have taught me lots of great tips on how to train Casper and it so surprising in such a short course how much he has learnt. I can't recommend Posh Pets enough.

Heather has had a Staffie herself, and it lived with her family to a good old age. She understands the breed.

The puppy training classes are really well run and have been a great way to get my puppy used to the correct commands. There is lots of useful advice and practising in a fun and friendly enviroment and a great way to socialise with other puppies. Thanks to Heather and her team!

I would like to thank you for all the advice, training and assistance you have given us with our puppy Milly. The puppy class was a learning class for us all well as our dog. Everyone we meet comments on how well behaved, and sociable she is. Thats all a big thank you to you and Chic your helper.
We both really enjoy the class and get a lot out of it.....
Geordie is coming on brilliant - She is much more responsive.....

I find the trainers very approachable and give excellent advice and the club is also very informative.
I don't go to class now, but when I did, I found a big difference in my dog. My dog has a mind of her own and is a little menace but it was a great help in class when the trainers noticed her `talking back' and helped me deal with it. My dog is quite unsociable with other dogs and this club and the excellent trainers really helped her although I find her slipping back into her old ways so wouldn't hesitate in going back to the club for help and would also very much consider the individual lessons to help me/her beforehand.

Before I contacted Heather at Posh Pets I felt despondent and frustrated.
Though I love Lara I struggled to control her when out walking or when she
spotted other dogs to play with. We arranged some one to one training and
from week one got great results. The family attended the training so that we
offered Lara a consistent training and very quickly had her responding to
our commands. Lara seemed to enjoy her training too and so we enrolled in
the training classes. After only one week Heather encouraged us to undertake
our Bronze Obedience Test. When Lara passed we were all so happy and proud.
Training with Heather has been very effective and also a pleasure. I
certainly enjoyed our sessions which were sociable as well as informative.
Heather is extremely experienced and shares her expertise and genuine
affection for the animals. Now, when Lara meets Heather again, she is so
excited and they have formed a lovely bond.
Our relationship with Lara is significantly improved and walks are now very
enjoyable of all of us thanks to the training Heather offered us.

A big thanks to Heather and her colleagues for running such a good dog training class. We found the classes very enjoyable and Daisy has greatly benefited from attending. The way that you manage groups of dogs but still give individual attentions was great.

Having bought a Belgian Shepherd I knew that this breed
needed to be socialised right from the start.
My reason for choosing Heather was that she has excellent experience and
after reading other testimonials I knew I had made the correct choice. My Belgian,
Kara was a wary little puppy but after attending 6 weeks socialisation the
classes helped to build her confidence.
Kara went onto 10 weeks basic obedience and again with Heather’s support
and guidance and with her expertise in training Kara is a very well balanced,
mature 7 month old puppy. Any problems out with classes Heather is always
available to give advice and support. The club also have days out for members
which again I found to be valuable as it consists of training and socialisation
for the dog’s and their handlers. Kara
has qualified for Cruft’s 2012, and has achieved her KC Bronze and I firmly
believe it was down to Heather and her assistance in helping me to have a well
trained dog. I would definitely
recommend Posh Pets as the training, advice and support is outstanding. Thanks Heather for your continuing support
Hazel and Kara.
